Spring

by Tina Chang

For our limited-edition Renewal Blend, we partnered with the Poetry Society of America to commission a poem by Tina Chang. Below is Spring, her original poem written for the welcome arrival of spring and the inaugural release of our Spring Poetry Coffees.

Spring

I said I was the vessel.

I said it to the sun.

I mentioned it to the snow

which made an appearance

last night, heavy and sorrowful

but fleeting. It stayed

long enough for me to dream

about it, long enough

for my footprint to leave

a legacy in frost as I walked

toward a future garden.

About the Coffee

To build our seasonal blends, our roasters start with a Platonic ideal of what tastes wonderful this time of year, then find the coffees that work in concert to achieve that beauty and delight. A blend is as much a reflection of the roaster's artistry as it is the taste of the two coffees within it.

Renewal Blend combines two washed coffees from Colombia and Ethiopia in one rich and fortifying cup, a steadying companion to ground you as you take in the views of this new season. Tina Chang's poem offers us a vision of this stepping out into spring.
