Immediate Changes to Our Cafes in Response to Coronavirus
By Blue Bottle CEO Bryan Meehan
Dear Blue Bottle Community,
On behalf of everyone at Blue Bottle, I want to offer our heartfelt wishes for peace and care during this difficult time. I also want to share precautionary steps we are taking to protect the health and wellness of our guests and teams, which started in Japan and Korea and this week extended to all our US cafes.
As our daily habits are changing during this uncertain time, our highest priority remains unchanged—to offer care and hospitality for anyone that needs it, a harbor from the storm.
We have immediately introduced the following changes:
We have increased the frequency and attention with which we sanitize our cafes and have added partners as needed to support the additional work.
We have added sanitizer dispensers to all our cafes for any guest who would like the use of hand-sanitizing solution.
We have temporarily removed all items from our condiment bar, such as milk, sugar, spoons, and lids; for now, our baristas can provide these as needed.
We have temporarily suspended accepting personal cups at all our cafes. We will continue to honor our 25¢ discount to all who bring their own cup to a cafe, but we are serving all to-go orders in our disposable cups for the time being.
We have temporarily suspended all public cuppings.
As we continue to keep a close eye on events and take guidance from local authorities, we are adjusting our policies daily as needed.
Above all, the health and wellness of our guests and staff are paramount. We will continue to do all we can to offer protection and safety as well as warm and welcoming spaces. In our commitment to transparency, we will share updates as we have them. As always, if you have any questions or concerns, we are also here for you at support@bluebottlecoffee.com.
